As we anticipated last December, during the first weeks of 2020 Veeam updated its Availability Suite, which has now reached version 10. The company claims that it is the most important update since the product launch, which took place in 2008, cwith additional features that make Availability Suite the solution more complete and reliable for the protection of hybrid cloud environments.
What's new in Veeam Availability Suite v10
Among the most interesting features introduced with the Veeam Availability Suite v10 support for NAS should be mentioned, which allows you to use inexpensive on-premise storage for archiving structured data, which can be easily moved to and from the cloud. This feature also supports the version rollback, so as to quickly recover data in case of disasters, such as those that could be caused by a ransomware-type malware.
To better react to this type of attacks, which have recently become widespread thanks to the fact that they allow scammers to quickly monetize their criminal actions, Veeam has introduced the possibility of making immutable backups on the Amazon cloud, relying on the function Amazon S3 Object Lock. These backups can then be quickly copied to other destinations, including the on-premise NAS, to ensure redundancy of the type 3-2-1, which provides three copies of the data, two of which are on different devices and one off-site.
Amazon isn't the only supported cloud platform. As we said, Veeam Availability Suite is designed for multi-cloud environments and support is available for Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, IBM Cloud Object Storage and any environment compatible with it storage S3.
In addition to the data, the Veeam Availability Suite v10 also offers the possibility to carry out instantly – a matter of minutes – the recovery of virtual machines. Options are available to recover multiple VMs simultaneously or to focus on a single disk of one of them, as needed.

- A wider platform and ecosystem including new advanced features for Linux, HPE Primera and HPE StoreOnce Nutanix AHV, PostgreSQL, MySQL and more.
