Currently, most popular messengers allow us to add reactions to received messages. One exception is WhatsApp, though it looks like he’s working hard to fill this gap.
It has been said for some time that such functionality will appear in the communicator. Service already at the beginning of February WABetaInfo showed some screenshots, showing us how reactions might look like in a mobile app. This applied to both the iOS and Android versions. As in other messengers, one of the reactions we have chosen appears in the lower right corner of the chat bubble. It seems like you’ll be able to choose from six emojis at first.
Now, in turn, also thanks to WABetaInfo, we can see what the functionality looks like in the WhatsApp application for desktops. It is still six emoticons, so it looks like it will stay that way in the end, although it is possible that in the future you will be able to choose any emoji, as it is, for example, on Messenger. According to the source website, in order to react to the message, you need to hover the cursor over it. Then the reaction button will be displayed, and after clicking on it, we will be able to choose the appropriate reaction.
WhatsApp has been working on this for a while, but responses are still not available even in the beta. When will they get there? It is not known, but if there is any information about it – we will let you know.
