Honda at the Dekra Lausitzring raced to break the world speed record in this niche category with its Mean Mower V2 with driver Jessica Hawkins behind the wheel. This is not a simple modification, but an official work of Honda, which was entered in the Guinness Book of Records.
The Mean Mower V2 borrows many parts from a different manufacturer’s Honda HF2622 mower, retaining the standard front guard, grass catcher and body panels. But underneath it all was an engine from the Honda CBR1000RR superbike with a new ECU. It is a four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 0.999 cubic centimeters, which generates a power of 190 horsepower.

This engine was paired with a six-speed gearbox, and among the extras to improve performance and capability were paddle shifters, a racing steering wheel, 10-inch ATV wheels and matching racing tires. Thanks to 3D printing, Honda was also able to create custom elements, among which the six-inch carbon fiber blades still stand out.

In practice, the Honda Mean Mower V2 accelerated to 242.99 km / h, but its record was for sprint times to 100 mph, or around 160 km / h. This one was measured twice, back and forth, which resulted in an average of 6.285 seconds.
