Will Nvidia Super RTX graphics take over AMD Navi glory as early as July 2?

Are video card price wars starting in earnest?

There is growing evidence to support the existence of Nvidia’s “Super” RTX graphics cards, which, according to the latest report, will be announced on July 2.

We have to remind you to be careful as these are just rumors, but the Videocardz report claims that Nvidia has confirmed that the Super GPU’s release date is set for next Tuesday, July 2.

There are likely to be three models – the GeForce RTX 2060 Super, as well as the 2070 and 2080 – all of which boost performance over the classic RTX models.

What is not clear is when the graphics cards will actually be available for purchase, as we are only expecting an announcement; and whether they might appear on the shelves the same day.

It is currently rumored that we can see the RTX 2060 Super and 2070 Super on the shelves a week later, on July 9th, which sounds quite authentic. Allegedly, the RTX 2080 Super won’t release until the end of July, so the launch will be a little smeared.

Again, it is worth emphasizing the status of the current information as conjecture, because several previous rumors have already named the dates and turned out to be incorrect. But as we said at the beginning of the article, the amount of data on new RTX graphics cards is certainly on the rise, and of course it makes sense for Nvidia to try to thwart AMD Navi’s loud launch.

AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 XT and RTX 5700 (Navi graphics cards) hit store shelves on July 7, late next week, so it makes sense to announce new Nvidia graphics cards earlier this week.

Correct pricing?

How Nvidia evaluates the new RTX Super graphics cards will of course be a key factor, and perhaps pricing will determine the fate of the RTX models in relation to the upcoming AMD RX 5700 series graphics cards.

If the current RTXs get cheaper, they will obviously compete better with the new Navi graphics cards. And as noted by Wccftech, which found this report, third-party graphics card manufacturers are preparing discounts on classic RTX graphics cards, which will presumably sell for marked price reductions.

At the same time, the site warns us that preliminary information from a major graphics card manufacturer indicates that prices for existing RTX models will not be drastically reduced.

However, the manufacturer points out some price cuts – and will obviously be beneficial for users who find RTX graphics cards too expensive (especially outside 2060).

In the end, we don’t know what will happen with the pricing, but it looks like we can clear things up soon enough if the graphics cards are announced on July 2nd.

Here are the best graphics cards you can buy in 2019.
