Anyone who has ever tried to download a YouTube video on a computer knows how troublesome it is. You have to use the option to record your desktop or, worse, unknown, often dangerous sites. Fortunately, the website will eventually add a download option, although only for owners of the Premium version.
Premium website users can download videos, but so far it was only possible on mobile devices. Many people waited for the functionality to be expanded to the desktop version of YouTube as well, and it looks like we finally got it. As reported by Android Police, some have already been given the opportunity to test the “Download” feature. There is an additional button below the videos between “Share” and “Save”. It is located in the same place as in the mobile application.

Of course, the file will not be downloaded directly to our computer, but will only be saved in the offline library, from which we can view it, but … well, it turns out that when we completely lose the connection to the network, it cannot be restored. So it is a solution that will work in the case of a weak connection that will not “drag” normal viewing or in a situation where we do not want to waste our data package. Unfortunately, as far as we know, the maximum resolution of the downloaded files is 1080p.
