The scam is quite complicated. The processor is actually an Intel design. Someone managed to remove the mark and stick the appropriate one from AMD. What’s more, there is an official seal on the box, while there is not even a Wraith cooler inside and there is some other, unidentified one. Scammers could buy a Ryzen CPU and give away counterfeits. Amazon does not even look at what is inside when accepting returns when there is a seal and immediately sends the equipment to the new user.
Fortunately, it is impossible to damage the motherboard. Designs for AM4 do not have pins, nor does the Intel processor have them. Processors were returned, with counterfeits noticed, on July 8 and July 15. The short time between them suggests that there are definitely more fakes in the warehouse. The only question is how much?
