AMD introduces Radeon Super Resolution, FSR built into the drivers for use in any game

AMD has announced a new feature coming to their software in 2022, I’m talking about Radeon Super Resolution, which promises to bring supersampling enhancements to almost any gameEven if it doesn’t, it doesn’t have AMD’s Super Resolution FidelityFX built in.

According to AMD, Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) is based on the same algorithm as FidelityFX Super Resolution, but it is integrated into AMD’s Adrenalin software suite, thus it can work in a much wider range of games.

“We have taken our FSR technology and integrated it into the next version of Adrenalin software,” said Frank Azor of AMD during the live of CES 2022 from AMD. “This new feature is called Radeon Super Resolution and it allows you to get the performance benefits of FSR in almost every game.”

Once implemented, players will be able to simply enable RSR in the Adrenalin software, and reap the performance benefits. RSR works on any of AMD’s RDNA-based GPUs.

Presumably, RSR will not offer the same level of improvement as FidelityFX Super Resolution, which must be integrated into the game by the developers themselves. But for gamers who want to rely on AMD software, it is a good and interesting option to get the best possible performance on PCs.

AMD will also add some other features to the Adrenalin software in the coming months, including improvements to its game streaming system and a new feature called AMD Privacy View that uses eye and head tracking technology to block areas of the screen that we are not. actively watching.
