AMD Radeon RX 5600 vs RX 5600 XT: performance differences

It is undeniable that the launch of the new AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics cards has not ceased to be without controversy. Although the graphics cards have excellent gaming performance, AMD Radeon has decided to follow the trend of NVIDIA to raise the prices of its average ranges (which is where this graphics is placed for performance). Not to mention that it will be necessary for new users flash the BIOS original if they want to have at their disposal all the performance that this graphic is capable of.

Now the benchmark of a supposed new graphics card has appeared AMD Radeon RX 5600, which is supposed to be a model of trimmed benefits, compared to the current Radeon RX 5600 XT.

As we always recommend with this type of filtration, it is advisable to take them with a pinch of prudence and skepticism, since it is not uncommon for these types of results to be falsified.

The tests of the AMD Radeon RX 5600 place it quite close to the RX 5600 XT

The tests that have been performed in the program UserBenchmark, they make it clear that the difference in performance between the supposed new AMD Radeon RX 5600 and the recent RX 5600 XT is quite scarce, although not negligible. In general, the new model that has been launched on the market is a 21% more powerful that this new supposed graphics card from this manufacturer. Which means that it would fit perfectly between the performance of the Radeon RX 5500 XT and that of the new RX 5600 XT.

The question is, where is this new graphics card model aimed? AMD Radeon not in the habit of NVIDIA of taking out a specific model for each market price segment. That is why, if for the mid-low range NVIDIA has launched, with the Turing core, a total of 5 graphics cards, AMD has only launched two of them to the market.

In the previous screenshot we can see that the performance differences between both models are not excessively large. This performance would place it quite close to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 and 1660 SUPER and above the AMD Radeon RX 590.

Of course, a single benchmark of a single user is not representative of anything in the market. However, there is something about this benchmark that makes us think that, it is very likely that we are facing a graphics card model that would go to the market of OEM assemblers. The fact that this new model is not being given any publicity that, apparently, exists, makes us think that, in all likelihood, we are facing a case similar to what happened with the AMD Radeon RX 5500 and RX 5500 XT . Except that, in this case, the model we have first known has been the XT model.
