AMD Radeon RX 6950XT, RX 6750XT and RX 6650XT delayed until May 10

Originally scheduled to hit the market in April this year, las nuevas GPU Radeon RX 6950XT, RX 6750XT y RX 6650XT de AMD were delayed until May 10 this year.

So far, there is no concrete information on the reason that led the manufacturer to change the launch date of the products, which was previously scheduled to arrive on April 20. The technical specifications of the products, which upgrade the manufacturer’s RDNA 2 lineup, are still being kept under wraps, with the expectation that they will bring enhanced GPU frequencies as one of their features.

The model that has the most information at the moment is the RX 6950XT, which should bring a boost that exceeds 2.5 GHz. The function should increase the maximum TDP of the GPU, which should consume 350 W (in comparison, the RX 6900XT LC consumes 330 W, while the RX 6900XT consumes 300 W).

The RTX 6650XT will bring a new heatsink design

From what we can tell the RX 6650XT model should adopt a new heatsink design, which will now adopt two fans. This would allow the card to adapt to the new energy demands it will have due to the higher frequency of operation.

A similar change should be seen in the RX 6750XT, which switches to a three-fan design. Another change brought about by the new hardware is the fact that it should be sold directly to consumers, unlike the original model of the RX 6500XT.

The delay in releases may have something to do with Intel’s recent decision to slightly delay its Arc Alchemist lineup for desktops, which should directly compete with updated GPUs from AMD. The manufacturer is expected to release official details such as specifications, prices and availability of the new models in the coming days, as the official launch date draws closer.
