Asrock expands support for its base frequency overclocking feature to Z390 and B365

With the launch of their 400 Series motherboards for 10th Intel Core processors. Generation, Asrock presented its function Base Frequency Boost (BFB) to overclock multiplier locked processors even on non-Z chipsets, thereby increasing performance. After seeing great interest from the public, Asrock announced that it will release new BIOSes for Z390 and B365, allowing this feature to be used on 9th processors as well. Generation.

As we explained when the technology for 10ma CPUs was released. Generation, to increase the frequencies you also have to increase the power supply to the processor, so when activating BFB CPU power limit is raised to 125W, compared to the 65W it consumes with factory settings. This increase in consumption also brings with it an increase in the energy that is transformed into heat, so it will be necessary to install a heatsink better than the one included to use BFB without problems.

If we are willing to increase the consumption and temperatures of our processor, BFB will allow us to increase the frequencies by 1100MHz in the i5-9600, and 1000MHz in the i7-9700 and i9-9900, bringing with it huge increases in performance.

So far not all Asrock Z390s and B365s have received updates, so we recommend periodically visiting the official BFB page to see if your model has already received them.

Are you interested in using BFB on your Asrock Z390 or B365 motherboard?
