Crucial updates the SSD offering with new products equipped with PCIe interface

Crucial presents the new ones on the Italian market NVMe P5 series SSD is P2, two solutions aimed at different user groups but united by the interface PCIe Gen 3.0.

Crucial P2, already sighted in early April, is intended for mid-range users who aim to upgrade – perhaps from HDD or SATA SSD – without spending too much; available in cuts 250GB, 500GB is 1TB, this SSD offers a data transfer rate of up to 2300-1150 MB / s read-write (depending on the model) and an M.2 2280 form-factor.

The manufacturer offers a 5-year warranty, while for prices and availability, currently only the 250GB and 500GB variants, respectively at 62€ and 73 €.


Crucial P5 instead it is aimed at the most demanding user who is looking for a high-performance SSD without compromising. In this case, the offer includes 4 250 / 500GB and 1 / 2TB models, with one significantly higher transfer rates: 3400MB / s read and 3000MB / s read, except for the 250GB version which stops writing at 1400 MB / s.

Definitely satisfied Teresa Kelley, vice-president of Micron Consumer Products Group, who said about the new launch:

Crucial P5s use a proprietary Micron and NAND 3D TLC controlleras for reliability, Micron declares an MTTF over two million hours. At the moment the company has not disclosed the price of the various models that should arrive on the market in the coming weeks.
