DFI GHF51: the Raspberry-Pi-style single-board with AMD Ryzen processor

The single-boards born in the wake of the Raspberry-Pi family are many and on the market it is quite simple to find them with costs that vary based on the hardware configuration and expansion capacity, a feature of fundamental importance when we evaluate a device of this type.

A distinctive feature of many single-boards is certainly the adoption of ARM SoC, but nobody forbids the use of different platforms based on Intel or AMD technology. This is what he did DFI with the new one GHF51, a decidedly interesting solution that is based on the platform AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 series.

DFI GHF51 size 84×55 mm – about the size of the Rapberry Pi 3 Model B – is uses a Ryzen Embedded R1000 with 12W TDP, a chip not only more powerful than the classic ARM proposals, but with features that make it a very versatile and attractive solution not only for developers but also for consumer users.

DFI does not specify the exact model of the SoC, but given the presence of the integrated graphics Radeon Vega 3 we should be facing a Ryzen R1606G or R1505G, dual-core chip with SMT (4 threads) with configurable TDP up to 25W which they can go up to 3.3 / 3.5 GHz.

The rest of the features are no less interesting, starting from support DDR4 3200 (up to 8GB), 64GB of eMMC storage, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C, micro HDMI 1.4 and much more; DFI talks about Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and Linux support, however, given the x86 architecture of Ryzen Embedded, it should also be possible to use Windows 10 PRO / Home.

DFI currently has not disclosed the price of the product, for more details you can consult the link in SOURCE.
