Without proper control, we can develop many bad habits in the learning process. Is it with pronunciation, doing physical exercises or just writing, although this applies mainly to the youngest. Therefore, the engineers, knowing the limitations of the school system, developed a special KIHT system that simplifies the process of learning to write.

The KIHT system is unique in that it does not include screen writing. With his participation, the whole challenge of developing a writing training system is not at all difficult, because all you need is a graphics tablet, a digital pen and an application with an appropriate algorithm. That is why the work developed and constantly developed under the German-French project “Kaligo-based Intelligent Handwriting Teacher” (KIHT) is so important.

It comes down to a special pen that can be used to write not on a tablet, but on a piece of paper, which, according to scientists, will have a better impact on the learning process and the whole sense of learning to write. However, the system is still based on the Kaligo application, which supports the above-mentioned writing scenario on a tablet. As part of the KIHT project, a tablet and a digital pen on a piece of paper and a traditional pen were abandoned, but with a built-in IMU (special sensor) and a Bluetooth module.

Guided by the Kaligo handwriting exercises, students will use this pen to write individual letters on a plain sheet of paper. As you type, the IMU will track the position of the pen tip sending data to the app, which in turn will determine if the letter is spelled correctly and inform your child if they are typing incorrectly. The teachers themselves will be able to see the effects of their work.
