EPIC and Amazon are the first of many to hit the Microsoft Store

It is clear that unification is the future, in one way or another it is the right way and that seems to like Microsoft, because today it has just announced that EPIC and Amazon are the first of many to hit the Store de Microsoft.

Today we have seen how Microsoft has announced a new policy that in our opinion is the way to go. the unification of launchers and access to other stores. Make third-party storefront apps available on Microsoft StoreThis way we won’t flood our devices with tons of launchers, shops, etc.

Here are a few words from Giorgio Sardo, general manager of Microsoft Store:

Like any other app, third-party showcase apps will have a product detail page that can be found through search or navigation, so users can easily find and install it with the same confidence as any other app. in Microsoft Store on Windows. Today, we share that Amazon and Epic Games will be bringing their showcase apps to the Microsoft Store in the coming months, and we look forward to welcoming other stores in the future as well.

This does not mean that the Epic Store will be navigated through the Microsoft Store, but rather that the EGS Storefront application will be available to download and install through it. Other applications for external storefronts could follow, including Steam.

It’s different from the Amazon Appstore integration announced earlier this year, which will allow users to discover and install Android apps on Amazon from the Microsoft Store, but it dovetails with what Sardo described as Microsoft’s commitment to making “an open store. for an open platform, ‘a point he previously made in a blog post in June.

Now that we know that EPIC and Amazon are the first of many to hit the Microsoft Store, we’ll just have to wait for other brands to decide to hit the Microsoft Store.
