For years, we’ve heard the saying to forge iron while it’s hot, which Epic Games definitely understands. After the huge success of Fortnite, which guaranteed them a massive injection of cash, fueling the ambitions of the local board, the company decided to throw the gauntlet on the Valve platform and it looks like Googl as well.
We can see from the spot that Epic Games does not particularly like too high divisions of income between the developers and the store. Most importantly, however, we are able to believe their approach, because the company not only bypassed the Play Store by providing Fortnite for Android, but also decided to use a small “percentage” for itself in Epic Games Store sales. Best of all, from the consumer’s point of view, Epic Games simply knows what it’s doing, garnering the favor of both independent and great developers. However, the mobile market is the fastest growing one, so why not hit it?
While nothing has been confirmed, last year Tim Sweeney stated that 2019 will see an Android version of the Epic Games Store. It may not be the fastest information unearthed, but such a move would make sense for the company … and especially for one reason – Fortnite. Currently, the creators make it available to mobile players in a primitive way, because they require them to grant permission to install third-party programs. This, in turn, is an ideal gateway for fraudsters who can distribute fake game launchers, mainly targeting users unfamiliar with security in the network. And it just so happens that the Epic Games Store for Android would solve this problem.
