As part of the program FLRAA (Army Future Long Range Assault Aircraft) aims to replace the iconic Black Hawk helicopters, now deciding between the Defiant X helicopter from Sikorsky-Boeing and the V-280 Valor from Bell Textron. Recently, Rudolph Ostovich III, the former commander of the American Air Force, spoke about it in the pages of the Warrior Maven website.
According to Rudolph, FLRAA aims not only to select a successor to the Black Hawks with higher capabilities, but also to provide the US Army with equipment that opens the door to completely new scenarios. Especially due to higher cruising speeds and range, but also due to new weapons. All this is to be done at a similar operating cost, and not much more, as the skeptics claim.

Critics of FLRAA accuse the potential winner of too much change in the field of training pilots and personnel, and even materials and equipment. They are not true to the finger, but according to the former commander, they are problems of the sort that can be easily solved, be it with changes to the training process or with a few courses for current pilots and operators. In fact, Defiant X or V-280 Valor will bring with them more advantages than disadvantages and problems.
