Gigabyte BRIX mini-PCs are all new with Intel Comet Lake-U. Prices and features

Gigabyte updates the line of mini-PC BRIX and adds to the catalog new models equipped with Intel Comet Lake-U processors (announced August 2019), thus expanding an already sufficiently articulated offer that provides both high-performance and low-profile solutions (see for example the Gigabyte BRIX S variant). The company presents four new mini-PCs: BRi3H-10110, BRi5H-10210, BRi5H-10510 is BRi5H-10710, all based as easily understood on the respective Intel Core i3-10110U, Core i5-10210U, Core i7-10510U and Core i7-10710U processor models.

The manufacturer does not bring any particular changes to the design, the dimensions of the chassis remain very compact (only 46.8 x 119.5 x 119.5 mm) and there are also the classic air intakes on the sides to optimize heat dissipation; Gigabyte BRIX supports the VESA standard and offers a good expansion capacity which includes, among other things, the possibility of using the interface USB 3.2 gen2 Type-C.

As for performance, updating with processors Intel Comet Lake-U will allow an increase in the order of 16% compared to the previous generation, guaranteeing solutions up to 6 cores / 12 threads with the Core i7-10710U model. The TDP of these processors is 15W, the integrated graphics are the Intel UHD 630, while as regards the memory we find DDR4 RAM (up to 64GB); in our opinion the only flaw is the storage department which only offers a 2.5 "HDD or SSD with SATA 3 interface (no M.2 NVMe slot).

Gigabyte at the moment has not revealed the prices of the new BRIX mini-PCs based on the Intel Comet Lake-U platform which, on balance, should not be very cheap in practice. Keep in fact in fact that speaking only of processors, the base model Intel Core i3-10110U costs $ 281 from Intel's list, while if we move to the top of the range, Core i7-10710U, the price even rises to $ 443.
