Gigabyte releases new BIOS with support for Ryzen 7 5800X3D, its launch could be close

In early January, during its CES 2022 presentation, AMD officially announced its new Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the only desktop processor we will see based on the Zen3D architecture with 3D V-Cache technology, and mentioned that we would see it in the spring of the hemisphere. north, that is, in our autumn, which begins on March 21 and ends on June 21. Now, Gigabyte added support for this processor on several of its motherboards, which would indicate that it would hit the market as soon as this launch window established by AMD opens.

These new BIOSes are available for motherboards with X570, B550, A520, X470 and B450 chipsets, and incorporate AGESA V2 1.0.6 B “to support an upcoming new CPU.” Although the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is not explicitly mentioned, we already know that no more processors will arrive on the AM4 platform outside of this model, since AMD will launch its AM5 platform in July, leaving aside this platform that has already been on the market for 5 years. .

In this way, users who want to make a final upgrade without changing their AM4 motherboard will be able to enjoy this Ryzen 7 5800X3D from late March / early April. If you don’t do a lot of heavy tasks that require more than 8 cores and 16 threads, you’ll have a great processor with great gaming performance and good single-core performance thanks to its extra cache, without having to go to the expense of moving to another platform. . The exact launch date of this CPU is not yet known, although as soon as it is revealed we will inform you, so keep an eye on HD Technology for the latest news.

Do you plan to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D when it hits the market?
