Google is reportedly working on a streaming-based console

In the constantly developing computer games market, every producer wants to get a piece of cake for themselves. According to Kotaku sources, Google, which has been interested in this segment for years, is also keen on this morsel. The key to its success is to be a console … based on streaming.

This idea is not particularly new, because just look at the GeForce Now or PlayStation Now subscription. While their case has recently quieted down, it’s hard to forget about the vision of playing the latest games on an old computer using servers located somewhere far away, streaming live gameplay with the fluidity and quality offered by top kits. Of course, the delay associated with the transmission of the signal cannot be avoided. No wonder that Google (according to Kotaku) is currently working on its own “cloud” platform using streaming.

This is justified, among others, by recent recruitment for positions related to the topic at Google and the fact that the company is looking for studies to take over so that they can create games especially for it. As we know – the console lives (not) only with exclusives. The project itself is to be at an early stage of the project, and its physical counterpart may simply take the form of a small device used strictly for decoding the signal and transmitting it to the screen. We have to wait for more official information.
