These quarantine days are leading people to find new ways to communicate. We are seeing him daily: even that little "technological" relative is learning to use video calls. On the other hand, our dear smartphone can be more useful than ever in the current situation, since it allows us to see how the people we care about are keeping distance.
It is therefore no coincidence that there has recently been a boom in video calls in Italy. There are myriads of free applications that allow you to do this and it is good to understand how to use the various software and which applications are suitable for calling more people.
The easiest application to use for making video calls is definitely WhatsApp. In fact, the instant messaging platform owned by Facebook is used by a huge user base and probably also your less experienced contact in technology has WhatsApp available. The limit in this case is set at 4 people per video call, therefore you can connect simultaneously with 3 other people.
The procedure is very convenient: simply open WhatsApp, select the contact you want to call and press the camera icon on the top right. At this point, the video call will start and all you have to do is wait for the other person to answer.
Once the video call has started, it is possible to add up to 2 other people using the icon with the sign "+"present at the top right. By pressing it, the list of your WhatsApp contacts will appear on the screen and you can invite other people to the video call by simply selecting them and, if required, by pressing on the item"add".
Another possibility is to initiate a call with members of a WhatsApp group. To do this, all you have to do is open the group chat, press on the camera icon located at the top right and choose the participants.
Note the fact that in some groups the camera icon may not appear. In this case, just press the handset icon with the "+"located at the top right, select the item "New group call", choose the participants and press on the camera icon. Skype
Another popular application for making video calls is Skype. In this case, the limit is set at 50 people, therefore you can add 49 friends. Once you have downloaded and configured the application for mobile devices or the computer program, in both cases you will find the download links on the official website, creating a video call with a large number of people is very simple.
From the list "Calls"(for example, on PC it is located at the top left), just select the item"New call / Start a new call", if necessary press on"New group call", choose the participants and start the video call by pressing the"Who loves"or the camera icon.
In the case of video calls with less than 25 participants, the application will ask if you want to warn the latter with a ring or not, while when this limit is exceeded the video call will take place without ring. In the latter case, the participants will be notified by means of a notification and, when ready, they will be able to participate by pressing on the item "Join the call".
Alternatively, if you are already in a video call with another person, just press on thelittle man icon with the "+" at the top right, select the people you want to add and press the "Add" button.
