HP and the Media 3.0 Foundation are fighting digital exclusion

The necessity to operate remotely did not change much in terms of digital divide in Poland. HP and the Media 3.0 Foundation are working on creating a New Academy to help solve this problem.

What is the New HP Academy and the Media 3.0 Foundation

The new Academy is to be an open-access educational platform, which will reach 100 users all over Poland only in 2021. We are talking about people from different age groups who will be offered learning in a practical and interactive way.

The topics to be discussed include: environmental protection, programming, entrepreneurship for young people, 3D printing, gamification, social and digital start-ups, working with data and the relationship between ICT and sustainable development. The initiative will be promoted in schools, administration facilities, partner messages and in social media.

It is very important to us that children and adolescents have access to education at the highest level, and that they can achieve the best results in learning. At HP, we strongly believe that new technologies can help them in this, which is why we are actively fighting digital exclusion. By announcing our partnership with the Media 3.0 Foundation, I am sure that thanks to this cooperation we will provide a program that will provide them not only with substantive knowledge, but also fun. The acquired skills will surely bear fruit in the future

– said Andrzej Sowiński, managing director of HP INC Polska.

During the training and workshops, HP Life content and materials prepared locally will be used. HP Life is a free training program prepared by the HP Foundation. The materials were prepared on the basis of a questionnaire completed by potential beneficiaries of the New Academy. They were mainly teachers who face the problem of digital exclusion of their pupils on a daily basis.

The new Academy will start on September 6, and will be accompanied by a hackathon for interested people aged 14+. The aim of the competition is to create software related to environmental protection.
