Netflix announces the creation of an official game and its own series

Netflix has announced the launch of a mobile game and television series based on the popular card game Exploding Kittens. On one hand we have the Exploding Kittens – The Game, an exclusive version of the game in mobile version, which will be released on Netflix in May. Following the game, an adult animated comedy series starring Tom Ellis (Rush, Lucifer) will launch in 2023.

In the animated series, titled Exploding Kittens, the eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell reaches epic proportions when both God and Devil are sent to Earth, in the bodies of burly house cats. The series is the work of directors Shane Kosakowski and Matthew Inman; executive producers Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and Dustin Davis of Bandera Entertainment; executive producers Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping of Chernin Entertainment Group; and executive producers and creators of the Exploding Kittens franchise, Elan Lee and Inman of The Oatmeal.

Exploding Kittens – The Game It maintains the same classic gameplay where players draw cards in order to avoid Explosive Kitten. Additionally, fans will enjoy two new exclusive cards: Radar, which reveals to players the position of the Explosive Kitten closest to the top of the deck of cards, and Flip Flop, which reverses the order of the cards in the deck. Future cards and game mechanics will be themed around the animated series so friends and families can play as their favorite characters and bring the series to life. With single and multiplayer options, the game will be available to Netflix members with no additional fees or in-app purchases.
