New Kailh Mechanical Switches at CES

The CES fair is characterized by the fact that in addition to this consumer-central hall, they also have a separate, in a way, intended for stands, with the interest of not ordinary visitors, but representatives of other companies in mind. There were, among others, Dongguan City Kaihua Electronics Co., the creators of Kailh switches. However, they were not showing their old product, but a new version of mechanical switches (thanks to TechPowerUp).

Although the journalists of the TechPowerUp website did not manage to get accurate information, they managed to get something out of the local presenters. The company had four new versions of switches on its stand, branded with the “China style series” brand. These are most likely limited variations that were made with specific customers in mind. They could have commissioned the brand to make something special for their limited keyboard models, although the choice was rather traditional designs.

I am talking about linear Chinese Red with the force needed to activate at the level of 45g, Noble Yellow with a noticeable click (65g), its slightly milder version Glazed Green (50g) and by far the most characteristic linear Ancient Gray, the activation of which requires a force of 95 gf. All of them have the same working path (1.8 mm) and durability of 80 million activations. However, we do not know where or if these four switches will go on sale or even mass production.
