Nvidia announces GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 and RTX 2070

Pre-orders today.

During Gamescom 2018’s massive demo in Cologne, Germany, Nvidia unveiled its new series of GeForce RTX 20-series graphics cards.

Three new Nvidia GeForce graphics cards appeared on Nvidia’s own website complete with some great price tags just minutes before the company’s CEO and founder Jen-sen Huang announced new products from the scene.

Starting at the top, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is Nvidia’s new flagship graphics card that promises 10 Giga Rays and over 78 trillion RTX-OPS, a new performance metric that tracks ray tracing per second. Nvidia has skimmed the specs, but we know the card will be equipped with 11GB of video memory, most likely GDDR6, just like the company’s Quadro RTX cards.

Next comes the GeForce RTX 2080, equipped with 8GB of video memory, capable of delivering 8 Giga Rays and 60 trillion RTX-OPS. Finally, the GeForce RTX 2070 8GB promises 6 Giga Rays and 60 trillion RTX-OPS.

The prices for the new Nvidia graphics cards are as follows:

  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti: $ 999 (about 65,000 rubles)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080: $ 699 (about 45,000 rubles)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070: $ 499 (about $ 32,000)

However, while these prices were revealed during Nvidia’s press conference, they do not match the prices that were found on Nvidia’s website at the time of writing. Online prices are quoted at $ 1,199 (about R 78,000) for the RTX 2080 Ti, $ 799 (about R 52,000) for the RTX 2080, and $ 599 (about R 39,000) for the RTX 2070.

We are currently confused about pricing and expect Nvidia to update the site soon. However, we recommend that you avoid pre-orders until prices have been set, as the site will happily take your money even if the price is wrong.

All new Nvidia graphics cards will be available for pre-order starting today, with shipping promised on September 20. Stay tuned for more information on the shiny new RTX 20 series graphics cards.
