Anyone who has had a video card in the past thirty years has probably bought a video card at least once NVIDIA. The company, founded in 1993 by the commitment of Jen-Hsun (Jensen) Haung, Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem, is today one of the most advanced technological companies.

Huang has received many awards throughout his entrepreneurial career, but to the list will be added soon one of absolute prestige, the Robert N. Noyce Award – it is an award that can be seen as the Nobel Prize for semiconductors, whose name refers to Robert N. Noyce, co-founder of Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel Corporation. Figures like Federico Faggin, Gordon Moore and Robert H. Dennard have received this recognition over the years.
Huang succeeds Lisa Su, the first woman to receive the honor, and current CEO of AMD. The Noyce Award is given to “leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the semiconductor industry in technology or public policy,” points out the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). Huang will receive the award at the SIA Awards dinner on November 18 this year.
“Jensen Huang’s extraordinary vision and tireless execution skills have greatly strengthened our industry, revolutionized computing and enabled the advancement of artificial intelligence,” said John Neuffer, president and CEO of SIA. “Jensen’s achievements have fueled countless innovations – from games to scientific computing to self-driving cars – and continues to drive the development of technologies that will transform our industry and the world. We are delighted to recognize Jensen the 2021 Robert N. Noyce Award for his many achievements in the evolution of semiconductor technology“.
Huang previously received the “IEEE Founder’s Medal”, Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award and honorary degrees from Taiwan’s National Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan University and Oregon State University. In 2019, the Harvard Business Review ranked him # 1 on the list of 100 top performing CEOs over their tenure. In 2017 he was named Businessperson of the Year by Fortune.
