This time, however, we can count on something bigger, because the offer did not include the name itself with random numbers, but a really probable specification. So, according to this leak, the GeForce GTX 1180 in the original version of ASUS ROG Strix is to be based on the GT104 core from the Turing series. This one is supposed to have its origin from Volt systems, i.e. the same ones that have special Tensor cores on board. It is not known, however, whether these will appear in consumer models … and it does not seem to be. Just like DPFP CUDA cores, i.e. units optimized for double precision floating point operations.
However, the GT104 core does not offer 3584 CUDA cores and a whole 16 GB of GDDR6 memory from Micron. This one is to have a 256-bit bus width, which in combination with the 14 GHz clock speed will give a bandwidth of 409.6 GB / s. In turn, the price in the offer is around $ 1,500 … and the date of availability has been set for September 28. It’s a whole month after Gamescom, where Nvidia is supposed to present its latest graphics cards. However, it is supposed to be only a paper premiere, which will initiate the process of sending the product to stores. So the case looks quite likely.
