Miners eagerly reach for GeForce RTX 3060 laptops converted into models for stationary machines

More than once we have heard about cases of mining on laptops, but for obvious reasons it is difficult to call this idea the best by e.g. temperature problems. Instead of fighting them, the Chinese manufacturer changed the GeForce RTX 3060 6 GB laptops so that they could be used like ordinary stationary models. It makes sense that NVIDIA has not yet developed the 6 GB desktop RTX 3060 model.

Let’s start with the fact that the modification is definitely illegal. The Chinese manufacturer is trying at all costs to hide the true nature of its modified cards, which can be seen from the fabricated NVIDIA logo on the fans and a barcode that directly suggests an “ordinary” model. The card has two power connectors, HDMI outputs, a unique backplate and a cooling system in the form of two fans and a heat sink at the same time. The prices, in turn, are around 3500 yen, which is less than PLN 150.

Laptop GeForce RTX 3060 models converted into stationary models go primarily to miners, because although they do not look like that, in practice they provide impressive mining performance. The reason for this is the lack of LHR limitation in the RTX 3060 mobile cores, thanks to which the models are characterized by an ETH mining speed of 50 MH / s. When it comes to specifications, there are 3840 CUDA cores and 6 GB of GDDR6 memory.
