NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and 3050 also arrive on desktop? The alleged specifications

According to new rumors, NVIDIA would be working to expand the Ampere desktop GPU offering downward with two cards,GeForce RTX 3050 Ti e GeForce RTX 3050, solutions that NVIDIA already proposes, at least in terms of nomenclature, in the mobile sector.

There has been rumor about their landing in the desktop field for some time, but with which ones specifications? According to the latest rumors, the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti could be based on one GPU GA106-150-A1 with 3072 core flanked by 6 or 12GB of GDDR6 memory on 192-bit bus.Nothing to do with the 3050 Ti intended for laptops equipped with a GA107 GPU with 2560 cores and 4GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus.

As for the alleged GeForce RTX 3050 desktop, NVIDIA may use a GA107-350-A1 chip with 2304 core (or 2560) and equip the card, probably, with 4 o 8GB in memory GDDR6 su bus a 128 bit. The mobile model has 2048 CUDA cores and 4GB of GDDR6 memory on 128-bit bus.

Meanwhile, on the net we talk of aRTX 3080 with 2GB of extra memory compared to the current model. There“new” GeForce RTX 3080 would have oneGPU GA102-220, in spite of the GA102-200 and GA102-202 used so far (respectively for the original version and the LHR model, i.e. with the limiter for mining).

It is unclear if there will be any changes regarding the chip specs: the RTX 3080 has 8704 active cores, and there would be room for an increase over the 10240 of the RTX 3080 Ti. It should not be forgotten that a few weeks you were talking about one RTX 3080 SUPER with 8960 active cores, plus 12GB of GDDR6X memory on 384-bit bus just as reported by the latest indiscretion.

In short, the new rumors are very reminiscent of the old ones, and the point is basically one, or if the card will be called SUPER, since NVIDIA has already made the RTX 3080 Ti, or in another way: difficult, for marketing reasons, that keep the “old name”.

So let’s get ready for several news in the early months of 2022, given that in recent times there has been talk of an RTX 3090 Ti / SUPER, an RTX 2060 with double the memory and the rumor of an RTX 3070 Ti with 16GB of VRAM circulates periodically. SUPER or not SUPER, the new models arriving could have an effect on today’s offer, leading to the exit of some solutions on the market (!) For months.

During the second part of 2022, as per previous rumors, we will instead see the arrival of the GeForce RTX 4000 based on Ada Lovelace architecture.
