Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti: Sorry, but a 3GB model is unlikely!

Let’s discuss the unlikely rumors.

We’ve seen leaks on several Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti models, but these new 3GB variants seem like a curious project.

ASUS has registered nine GeForce GTX 1660 Ti models with 3GB of video memory with the Eurasian Economic Commission.

And this seems odd to us, since Ti graphics cards are often tuned to the maximum performance you can get from a particular graphics processing unit (GPU). The doubling of video memory from the classic 6GB layout on the GTX 1660 Ti – and all of these new ASUS models are also listed in 6GB VRAM – is completely against Nvidia’s strategy so far.

Another potential round of the rumor mill is the fact that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 has been listed by the EEC in six different models with 6GB, 4GB and 3GB of video memory, which can be represented by GDDR6 or GDDR5. However, when the graphics card was officially released, the mid-range Nvidia Turing GPU was ultimately only featured in one SKU. Moreover, we have not yet seen any of these registered models on sale.

It is far more likely that ASUS is simply closing the holes in the catalog by labeling every potential version of its GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics cards. But the intention of the manufacturer of gaming equipment to release video cards in the performance of 3 GB seems unlikely to us.

Here are the best graphics cards you can buy right now.
