NVIDIA has developed DSR with the addition of artificial intelligence. Effect? DLDSR and even higher image quality

If anyone wonders how NVIDIA will bring the fight in the segment of resolution scaling technology, it can just stop. The company presented the DSR technology, or “enhanced DSR”.

The extension of the names DLDSR and DLSS says it all – in both technologies, SI plays the first fiddle … but then why was DLDSR created?

DLDSR stands for Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution, while the development of DLSS comes down to Deep Learning Super Sampling. In both approaches, the technology uses artificial intelligence, so in both cases it requires GeForce RTX graphics cards that can provide it with their Tensor cores. However, while DLSS scales from lower resolutions to higher resolutions, DLDSR does it the other way to increase quality.

So what is the difference between DLDSR and DLSS? First of all, operation and availability, because DLDSR will be possible to activate directly from the NVIDIA control panel, so it will work in conjunction with any game. However, it will not work like a DSR or DLSS, because its goal is to increase the image quality through down-scaling.

According to NVIDIA’s announcement, DLDSR can be up to twice as efficient while maintaining similar quality. In addition, by optionally adding the popular filters (ReShaders) by Pascal Gilcher, NVIDIA has provided this technology with the ability to “automatically remaster games” using filters.
