The update has been released for both versions of the tablet, Nvidia Shield Tablet Wi-Fi and Nvidia Shield Tablet LTE, but that’s not all. Nvidia has bundled the Software Upgrade 3.0, which takes up 200MB. Along with it, the tablet gets an updated quick settings menu and notification area, and some tablet problems are fixed. The update also includes Nvidia’s Global Tone Mapping feature that improves tablet display performance, as well as a new firmware update for the Shield controller.

The camera is getting better, along with panel sensitivity, acoustics and other components. The distribution of battery power is much better controlled, the software is faster and more stable, as promises Nvidia. The manufacturer recently updated the LTE Shield Tablet software to version 2.2, which offered several improvements, but also a screen bug that needs to be fixed with the 2.2.1 update as soon as possible.
