Official AMD Ryzen Pro 4000: three processors for professional portable computers

After the excellent consensus that welcomed the Ryzen 4000 Mobile processors launched in March, AMD further expands its offer and today announces the debut of the models Ryzen Pro 4000 Mobile designed forprofessional users and in particular for i ultra-portable notebooks.

Based on Zen 2 architecture and 7nm production process, the new Ryzen 4000 Pro aim to offer a marked increase in performance compared to the previous generation with a greater number of cores / threads and more clock speeds, all without sacrificing efficiency energy. Three models announced, Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U, Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U and Ryzen 3 Pro 4450U, all with integrated Radeon graphics and 15W TDP:

The new Ryzen Pro 4000 range improves the Pro 3000 series announced in April 2019, while maintaining its distinctive features in terms of safety. The platform supports the cryptography complete for system memory, integrating the Zen 2 architecture with the latest generation security features implemented by Microsoft and partners (see HP and Lenovo) on notebooks aimed at professional users.

As for the computing power, the data provided by AMD say that the top of the range Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U manages to offer an average performance increase of 40% compared to its predecessor Ryzen 7 Pro 3700U. Compared instead to an Intel Core i7-10710U (6c / 12t) instead, the gap drops to about 24% in various applications ranging from productivity (PCMark 10) to multi-threaded performance (Cinebench).

Among the first products to reach the market with the new AMD Ryzen Pro 4000 processors there will be the new HP ProBook (435/445/455 G7) and the Lenovo ThinkPad line (T14, X13, L14 / 15), all ultra-thin notebooks with high autonomy and based on Windows 10 Pro platform. No details at the moment have leaked about the prices of the new models that, probably, should debut in the coming weeks.
