Official MEG X570 UNIFY: MSI turns off RGB and embraces the dark side

MSI officially announced the new motherboard MEG X570 UNIFY, whose arrival had been anticipated in the past few weeks. Belonging to the MEG segment, the new X570 UNIFY is a product of high end which aims to bewitch with a totally black coloring: no RGB LEDs therefore, but a black UV print that reflects the bright dragon logo “MSI”.

Technically the X570 motherboard, in format ATX, supports processors Ryzen 2000 and 3000, has four DDR4 slots that can accommodate up to 128 GB two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, a third of the same length but reached by 4 lines and two PCIe 4.0 x1. It is therefore possible to create 2-way SLI and 3-way CrossFire configurations.

MEG X570 UNIFY adopts a VRM with 12 + 2 + 1 power phases and two 8-pin power connectors to allow easy overclocking. This board also has a cooling fan (with double ball bearing) for the chipset, which, however, only comes into action at a certain temperature (from experience not many times) thanks to the Zero Frozr technology.

There are four SATA ports and a total of three M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots (with M.2 Shield Frozr), two managed by the chipset and one by the processor. On the audio front we have a Realtek ALC1220 codec with 7.1 channel support, while the 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port it is always managed by a Realtek chip, but in this case an RTL8125.

The card has a Intel AX200 Wi-Fi 6 module pre-installed, which also guarantees Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

In the back we find an I / O panel with a Clear CMOS button and one for the BIOS flash. There are connectors for Wi-Fi antennas, a PS / 2 port, two USB 2.0 ports, as many USB 3.2 Gen 1, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A and one Type C. There is no lack of audio jacks and the optical S / PDIF output.

The price? MSI has not communicated it, but is part of the MEG line and according to our sources it should be between 300 and 350 euros. The most convenient range of MSI is MPG, with the company placing great trust in particular on the MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI.
