Test – Corsair ML120 et ML140 Pro

Hi all!

It had been a long time since I had done a little test on fans, it is today on the side of Corsair that I turn with their brand new ML model, available in 2 diameters, 12 and 14 cm. Corsair decided to step up a gear by offering a “magnetic levitation” system in it and placing bearings that we can usually see. This type of bearing is supposed to allow better airflow, a longer life at a lower noise level, basically everything better than everyone else, which will have to be seen in the tests!
The Corsair ML are offered at a price ranging from around € 21 for the 120 Pro model (without LED) to around € 26 for the 140 Pro model (with LED), it is also possible to acquire “Premium” models ( without LED and without rubber edges) at a price of 26 € for the 120 and 31 € for the 140 (but by 2). Let’s see what it gives!

The Corsair ML Pro are therefore available in 4 versions, the “classic” Black Pro but also in 3 versions with LED, blue white and red, note that the LED versions are equipped with transparent blades in order to convey the light of the LEDs.
The connection is in PWM, which will allow easy control of the speed of rotation via the motherboard. The operating range goes from 400 to 2400 RPM for the 12 cm and from 400 to 2400 RPM for the 14 cm, enough to combine low noise level to the minimum (and low air flow) with a large ventilation to the maximum (at the price a high sound level), so there will be something for everyone!
One thing shocks seeing these characteristics, the weight! Indeed with 210 g for the 12 cm version and 230 g for the 14 cm version these are the heaviest fans that I have ever had in my hands, this is not a weak point but a priori rather a guarantee of solidity, even if one does not necessarily have fun trying to twist a fan.
Offered at a price ranging from 21 to 26 € for a 5-year guarantee Corsair comes here to play in the court of “Premium” fans, here Noctua and be quiet !, this is no small task!
