Prices for AMD and NVIDIA video cards drop

After having reached record values over the past few months, well above the average retail prices indicated by producers, the video cards are slowly but surely following a dynamic of progressive descent of the price lists.

Since the mining di Ethereumwith video cards it has seen profitability drop significantly, making it much less convenient to use GPUs for this type of processing, purchase prices have recorded a steady decline. We have now come to values that are slightly lower than the average retail prices suggested by the manufacturers for some models of AMD video cards, with slightly higher figures for those of NVIDIA.

Thanks to the data compiled by the German site 3DCenter.orgwe find that the prices of AMD Radeon 6000 series video cards averagepracticed in Germany and Austria, they are 8% lower than the MSRP ones indicated by AMD for the North American market. For NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 series GPU-based video cards retail prices are on average 2% higherthan those suggested.

In particular, we can highlight more sustained variations for some cards, such as for the models GeForce RTX 3090Ti, GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3080Ti. Moving on to the AMD Radeon solutions we notice how the cards Radeon RX 6950XT e Radeon RX 6900XT both are priced lower than the MSRP, a dynamic that also applies to the lower-end Radeon RX 6600 and Radeon RX 6500 XT cards.

Regardless of the individual variations, which differ according to the model, what appears evident is the trend that sees the prices of video cards as a whole increasingly aligned with the official price lists. This can only benefit end consumers, who are finally able to purchase new video cards for their systems at correct prices and also benefit from availability in volumes on the market, which seems to be returning to more balanced levels than in the past.
