Radeon RX 6600 will arrive in mid-October: Navi 23 with 1792 SP and 8 GB of memory

It is no mystery that AMD would like to expand the Radeon RX 6000 desktop video card offering with a Radeon RX 6600, after the 6600 XT version introduced just before August 15th. Previous rumors set the debut between September and October and apparently AMD has made a decision: the card should debut in mid-October.

Based on some documents leaked, the new solution dedicated to gaming a 1080p it should end up in the hands of reviewers between 29 September and 4 October, in view of the articles that can be published on 13 October. The card should therefore hit stores on that date or shortly thereafter.

As with the RX 6600 XT, the RX 6600 too it will not be available in the reference version, with AMD leaving the AIB (Add-In Board) partners full power to propose the solutions they deem most appropriate. As for the specifications, the card should be based on a GPU Navi 23 with 1792 active stream processors flanked by 8GB of GDDR6 memory.

The Navi 23 GPU aboard the RX 6600 XT counts 32 Compute Units for a total of 2048 SP, which means that the smooth variant comes with 4 Compute Unit disattivate, like the already announced Radeon RX 6600M and Radeon Pro W6600. The card should hold 32MB of Infinity Cache, a 128-bit bus, and 16Gbps memory for a bandwidth of 256GB / s, like the XT version.

As for the price, there is still no information, but AMD has sanctioned a list of 379 dollars for the 6600 XT, so we expect a price of around 349 dollars. Obviously, as always happens in this shortage period, the MSRP can hardly be confirmed by the actual prices that the card will have in stores (the situation, as reported in the past few hours, is getting worse).
