Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled is real: higher frequencies and reference design

It looked like just a prototype, instead a real video card ready for debut. We are talking about the Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled, which is a video card with
reference design created by AMD and cooled to liquid through a 120 mm radiator system.

Intended, at least for the moment, for system integrator (Maingear in the US and PC Specialist in the UK are ready to offer it in some configurations, but also others such as NZXT via the BLD service) and not for retail purchase, this RX 6900 XT LC differs from the classic air solution as well as for cooling also for frequencies (of GPU and memory) and the TGP higher.

In fact, on board we find the GPU Navi 21 XTXH, which is a variant of the classic Navi 21 chip selected to operate at higher frequencies: specifically, the Radeon RX 6900 XT LC has a Game Clock of 2250 MHz and a Boost Clock of 2435 MHz, which is 235 MHz and 185 MHz higher respectively of the air solution. The other novelty is the memory, always 16 GB GDDR6, set to
18 Gbps instead of 16 for a bandwidth that rises from 512 GB / s to 576 GB / s. Consequently, the TGP rises from 300 to 330W, however, less than the 350W declared by Nvidia for the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 3090. Finally, we point out that the dual 8-pin PCIe power connector remains.

We currently don’t know if any Italian retailers will offer it as part of the options for their systems, but undoubtedly it is a limited model – even more so than the traditional cards that everyone is looking for but no one finds (at an honest price). Also, it should be noted that AMD’s partners already offer liquid-cooled RX 6900 XT, ranging from Sapphire’s Extreme Edition to Asus’ ROG Strix LC “TOP”.
