Red Hat Introduces OpenStack Platform 16

Red Hat today announced the general availability of Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16, the latest version of its agile and highly scalable Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution. More than 1,000 enhancements and new features will lay the foundation for telecommunications business and telecom workloads from programmable IaaS for hybrid clouds, development clouds and production clouds, and cloud-native applications such as feature virtualization Network (NFV), the edge computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and the machine learning (ML).

Built on the core of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 – the world’s leading enterprise Linux platform – Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16 was designed to help organizations drive more innovation faster and with less disruption. This latest version of the platform adds a long and optimized support life cycle, fully consolidated features and a new commitment to provide continuous innovation of the community translated into functions for the company through flow releases (stream releases). The platform combines the community versions of OpenStack “Rocky”, “Stein” and “Train” together with the best of versions 14 and 15 of Red Hat OpenStack Platform.

Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16 helps businesses and telecommunications companies (telco) to more effectively transform their IT infrastructures into more agile, efficient and innovative environments capable of taking advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital economy. The modular design of the platform optimizes the computing operations of existing applications while preparing the ground for the development and deployment of cloud native applications.
