There is less left for Intel to present its new generation of desktop processors, before which, and as is tradition, it has begun to leak information and results of its performance. This time, we have the scores obtained by a sample CPU of the Core i9-10900K (top of line) in the 3DMark tests, and these are compared to the Ryzen 9 3900X by AMD.
In the CPU test of 3DMark Fire Strike, Intel CPU gets 28988pts for best result, this compared vs 30415pts of AMD cpu, who is running the test with less memory, but faster.
Moving on to another test, 3DMark Time Spy, also looking at the CPU score. Processor Intel gets 13142pts, versus 13650pts as best AMD processor result.
If these results are close to what we will see when they are put on sale, this new generation of Intel will undoubtedly have difficult terrain when it comes out.
The difference in performance, at least in these tests, is not much. Taking into account the frequencies at which this chip will operate, so finally its price and its performance in other types of applications, may be the factor that tips the consumer’s balance.
The Core i9-10900K will have 10C / 20T, 3.7GHz base / 4.9GHz Turbo, 20MB cache, and 125W TDP.
