Samsung’s first logic chips with Carbon Trust certificates. What does it mean?

Samsung announced that four of its products have received Carbon Trust Certifications today. Importantly, these are the first logical layouts of the company that can boast of this. However, Samsung had previously certified ten of its semiconductor chips from the Carbon Trust.

New Carbon Trust for Samsung products. Even the company’s most advanced flagship SoC has been certified

Among these four products is now Samsung’s flagship SoC Exynos 2100, manufactured using 5nm process and EUV technology. In addition to it, the Cerbon Trust certificate has been granted to the ISOCELL HM2 matrix with pixels of 0.7 micrometers and the SoC DTV (S6HD820) and the TCON chip (S6TST21) associated with the SoC TVs.

The Carbon Trust is an independent partner of organizations around the world who advises companies on their quest to reduce emissions and be more environmentally friendly. In addition, it verifies and grants certification. Four Samsung products have just been certified CO2 Measured Product Carbon Footprintthat informs consumers about the environmental impact of a product and its production process.

This type of “measured CO₂ label” is the first critical step in reducing a company’s carbon footprint. It verifies the current carbon footprint in a complex process, which Samsung can then use as a benchmark to measure future carbon footprint reductions. This includes calculating the amount of carbon dioxide emitted during production of auxiliary raw materials, product transportation, electricity, water and gas used.
