Some RTX 3080 Ti allow to install the BIOS of the RTX 3090, reaching 110MH / s in Ethereum mining

It seems that the mining restrictions for the LHR cards did not last long, since now you can put the BIOS of an RTX 3090 on a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, although not on any GPU model, since for now, It is possible with the BIOS that DELL uses and with RTX 3080 Ti GPUs from Dell, Alienware, or whichever device ID is 2204.

Flashing the BIOS on a GPU that was theoretically limited will work at 110 MH / s, which is almost double the performance, which is around 66 MH / s.

This is what CryptoDonkeyMiner put in:

Hello my fellow miners

If you are the lucky owner of a DELL / Alienware RTX 3080 TI, then you may be able to flash a 3090 and get +100 MH / s in ETH mining.

For those who have a DELL RTX 3080 Ti or any other RTX 3080 Ti with a device ID that contains 2204 (See GPU-Z device ID field), you should be able to flash your card with this (3090 BIOS):

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/236871/dell-rtx3090-24576-210726

Commands

nvflash64 -b backup.rom
nvflash64 –list
nvflash64 –index=5 –protectoff
nvflash64 –index=5 Dell.RTX3090.24576.210726.rom
Remove the 64 if you don’t have the 64-bit version of nvflash. Change 5 to the index number in –list that matches your GPU.

If you can make it work, please write down what model you have.
Please note that there is always a risk that the card will bricke when flashing the bios. However, if you have the wrong ID, it won’t flash and just reject the command.

Thanks to Mohammad Fahham for informing me.

Another thing that miners had been doing was using the BIOS of the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti XC3, since it increased the Hash Rate to 91 MH / s, so this new BIOS further improves the performance margin by almost 20 MH / s, a good thing for miners who are trying to find any way to generate more profits before the arrival of Ethereum 2.0, at which point it will no longer be profitable to mine this cryptocurrency, so many miners will sell their GPUs if they cannot find another profitable coin.
