Sony is preparing a new controller, but not for PlayStation?

It seems that more and more companies are recognizing the potential of mobile gaming. Thanks to the disclosed patent, we learned that one of them may be Sony, preparing a special controller.

Sony is preparing a controller that will connect to the smartphone?

Gaming smartphones are becoming more and more popular, bringing with them high performance and allowing you to play some really challenging and complex titles. Therefore, it is not surprising that Sony saw an opportunity for itself in this. The company has patented a new controller that looks like it rains for PlayStation, but has a completely different purpose. The device would connect to a smartphone and allow comfortable gameplay, with access to the buttons known from the PS controller. In the middle of the structure there is a place for a smartphone.

It is not known, however, whether it will be a controller compatible with any smartphone. It is possible that it will be an Xperia Play device that offers access to the PS Now service and smartphone functions, or an accessory for Xperia smartphones. Of course, there is also an option that such a controller will never be created, but we will carefully follow the reports on this topic.
