Steelseries Aerox 5 vs Aerox 5 Wireless – what is worth knowing?
As we compare exactly two of the same models here, which differ only in the addition of apparatus to the wireless modes, it is easy to predict all the differences between them. The most important? Definitely the price, because it looks like adding a Bluetooth module and Quantum 2.0 Wireless with a 6-gram battery will cost as much as PLN 300 (PLN 449 vs PLN 749) when it comes to the prices given by the manufacturer. If your budget is your priority and the Aerox 5 catches your eye, the choice seems obvious.
However, this is not the only difference between these models, because the cheaper Aerox 5 weighs less (74 vs 66 grams). While this decline is mitigated to some extent by the requirement for a detachable cable, this one is not so invasive as to be intrusive. Especially in combination with a good mouse-bungee, which allows you to literally forget about the cable.

In practice, therefore, the Apex 5 is more dynamic and comfortable to move, as long as you consider yourself to be people for whom 8 grams (in the case of a mouse) in this or that makes a big difference. Moving on… we won’t really experience any differences. Well, maybe, except that in the software we will no longer find the characteristic options for wireless functions:
Therefore, before summing up, I will focus on the precision that both mice have to offer. They use exactly the same sensor – TrueMove Air and probably also lenses, so this is a perfect opportunity to compare the Aerox 5 and Aerox 5 Wireless when connected via a Quantum 2.0 receiver.
As you can see from the tests above and below, the readings from the programs seem to indicate that the precision is higher in the case of a wired mouse (in terms of maximum speed, read smoothness and precision), but when it comes to signal constancy in MouseTester, the model is better. wireless. Subjectively, however, I was not able to notice any difference.
Steelseries Aerox 5 test – summary
In brief? Both models are light mice with a perforated casing and a nasty backlight, which should be of interest to those players of dynamic productions who are looking for additional buttons and are demanding in terms of LPM and PPM (main buttons).
