Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless test. The simple mouse just got better

Pulsar took their past Xlite mice onto wallpaper and improved it based on the reviews they received and customer feedback. Effect? Xlite V2 Wireless mouse, with which we had the opportunity to spend a lot of time and admire its minimalism. Especially appreciating its balance, low weight and great precision, which is a perfect combination for dynamic games.

Box and accessories included

The form of a hard cardboard packaging itself heralds a huge emphasis on the minimalism of the Xlite V2 Wireless, which is something that actually beats left and right of this mouse. In the set, however, we will find a lot of elements, because a light USB-A to USB-C cable, a USB radio receiver and a module to shorten the range between the mouse and the receiver.

Design, materials and workmanship

Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless is a very, very modest wireless mouse, the format of which can be compared to HyperX’s Pulsefire Haste. The disadvantage / advantage is that the Xlite V2 Wireless is much simpler than the competition, because, as the producer of Pulsar himself says, “the goal was to create the simplest mouse” based on the previous model. Effect? Barely 59-gram model (excluding the cable) intended for right-handed people, in which there was no lack of care for ergonomics by significantly increasing the height of the mouse compared to what is usually offered by competing models.

This is important because it significantly frees us from “fingers scratching the pad”, i.e. the effect desired by some, and quite the opposite by others. The housing of this model is very simplistic and apart from a series of oblong holes, it doesn’t really contain anything to mention. Just a 4-piece mouse in the simplest possible format, which unfortunately has a design problem … if you tear it off the desk.

While the Xlite V2 Wireless housing does not creak or sag on the side panels and the main body, its base is very susceptible to any pressure. On the one hand, it doesn’t bother you while playing, but you have to know that if you squeeze the bottom of this mouse with a higher force, you will probably say goodbye to it once and for all (you will simply break it).

Finally, I will also mention that in the front we find a USB-C port for wired mode and charging the built-in battery, and on the bottom we find three large sliders with rounded edges and an on / off switch. We will also see the laminate used and one (possible to turn off) diode, which informs us about the selected DPI level.

What is the railway missing? First of all, a button to change the programmable sensitivity levels, but nothing prevents you from programming it in the software, giving the DPI change function to the side button.

Button test

The simple design of the Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless includes two large “slick” side buttons with an exemplary nature of operation. Why? Because this one is perceptible and with a slightly extended, not zero-one way of working, it is a nice alternative to the usually small side buttons supplemented with sharp switches (according to the operation).

If you are in favor of a roller with a “fast” (light and no large jump) mode of operation, the same can be said about it, which Pulsar based on an undefined switch by Huano. It does not make any unpleasant sounds while gently jumping from tooth to tooth in terms of the bearing, which is in line with the dynamic nature of the mouse.

At the end I left a few main buttons based on Kailh GM 8.0 microswitches. A few words about them? They will survive 10 years of clicking 22,000 times a day, and as average games in, for example, CS: GO generate up to several thousand clicks, you can clearly say that they will last much longer. Very good, because their implementation in this mouse with wings connected to the body is almost exemplary in terms of responsiveness … if you like more subtle than hard clicks on a short work path.

Software and battery

Simple, basic, but definitely sufficient. This is all we can say about the Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless companion application, which, on the one hand, allows you to import and export profiles, and on the other, to replace key functions, record macros and play with the sensor and RGB backlight settings. The latter two elements have been linked, and the backlight can illuminate the underside and the inside of the mouse in constant and breathing modes.

In addition, we can set the refresh level, LOD, activate angle snapping (a function that smooths our movements vertically and horizontally) and ripple control, which increases precision in terms of micromovements at high DPI levels. In the software, we can also preview the battery, providing energy for up to 70 hours on a single charge.

Test sensora PAW3370

Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless has one of the best sensors in the world in the form of PAW3370, which is at the level of PMW3389 and PMW 3360. It does not bother him with smoothing, consumes relatively little energy, its LOD is only 1 mm (~ 1 CD) after the appropriate setting in the application, and the overall possibilities are exemplary, which you just feel.

Synthetic tests indicate, in turn, that the PAW3370 in this implementation … All this in wireless mode, which compared to the operation of the mouse in the wired mode is exactly the same.

Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless test – summary

Interesting, oh interesting, but not for everyone. Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless definitely stands out in the market of mice intended for players. The lack of extensive backlight, high profile, low weight and minimalism above all are the features that distinguish the model on the market, which in addition can boast one of the best sensors and well-functioning buttons. Objective flaw? Bendability of the housing from below. Some people may also complain about the lack of a button above the roller to change the DPI level, but this is a very easy problem to work around.
