Test – Cooler Master Masterbox 5T
| Specs | Price

Hi all!

After testing a rather convincing Masterbox 5 from Cooler Master, I will present their latest box, the Masterbox 5T! As its name suggests, this is a variation of the Masterbox 5 but with a few small changes to guide everything, such as the addition of red everywhere, ventilation on the top and of course as is done more and more, LED!
Offered at a price of around 89 €, it is around 20 € more expensive than its big brother, let’s see if the additional cost is justified.

The technical characteristics of the Masterbox 5T are rather classic, the dimensions are rather generous on the other hand with 54.12 cm in length, 51.35 cm in height and 22 cm in width, which means that it will take up some space. The weight is however rather contained with “only” 7.73 kg on the scale, not enough to make a kidney turn (being careful!).
Component compatibility is quite good with a graphics card that can reach 41 cm in length and a cooler that can peak at 16.7 cm, enough to install the largest components without the slightest problem.
On the other hand in terms of storage it is rather meager, only 2 slots for 3.5 ″ hard drives (2.5 ″ compatible) and a single slot for a 2.5 ″ SSD, so you will have to forget the file server with a good big package of HDDs.
The ventilation is also very classic here with 3 x 12 cm or 2 x 14 cm at the front and 1 x 12 cm at the back, 2 x 12 cm its original delivered, one at the front and one at the back. ‘rear, enough to ensure a correct air flow from the start. Watercooling is not forgotten with radiator compatibility of up to 360mm at the front and 120m at the rear.
The whole panoply of modern features is present, namely removable hard drive cage, dust filters, anti-vibration foam for the power supply, window, LEDs and so on.
Offered at a price of around 89 € the Maxterbox 5T from Cooler Master is placed in the mid-range, it offers characteristics that are placed in the average, let’s see what this gives in practice!

Like its brother, the Masterbox 5T box is not extravagant, a simple (but thick) cardboard with a diagram of the beast on the front as well as of course the name of the model and the logo of the brand. At the back, a profile view as well as a list of the main strengths, in 8 different languages!

On the sides there is a table with the full technical characteristics, at least the buyer knows what he is buying!

In the box we find the box in its plastic bag sandwiched between 2 polystyrene molds, a great classic!

Regarding the bundle here we are really facing the minimum vital, namely the manual as well as its warranty sheet, a handle of cable ties and the necessary screws. Nothing to be ecstatic but the necessary is there.
