Test – Intel Core i7 7700K |Specs | Price

It was about time some will say, today I will present a test of a product long awaited at Conseil Config, the Core i7 7700K! After the Core i3 7350K test, from the file on the evolution of the Core i5s from 2500K to 7600K (here), this is the largest Kaby Lake model that I will present to you. On the program a 4-core processor equipped with hyperthreading with the multiplier coefficient unlocked to allow overclocking, nothing that changes the Core i7s that we have seen for years, just a small evolution 😉
Offered at a price of around € 340, the Intel Core i7 7700K is now since its release the champion of processors for games, let’s see what it is!

Here is the range (for the moment) of Kabye Lake “K” processors from Intel on socket 1151, in all 3 processors, a Core i3, a Core i5 and our little Core i7. The 7700K operates at a base frequency of 4.2 GHz for a maximum Turbo frequency of 4.5 GHz (on a single core, 4.4 GHz from 2 to 4), which is the highest frequency of all processors (except the Core i3 which does not however, there is no turbo), enough to have very high performance on applications that take advantage of multithreading.
Kaby Lake processors like the Skylake are compatible with DDR3L 1333/1600 MHz or DDR4 2133/24000 MHz memories. The only difference being native support for DDR4 2400 MHz (against 2133 MHz for Skylake), of course this does not represent the “overclocked” frequency accessible via faster kits. The processor can handle a total of up to 64 GB of memory, which will be more than enough for almost all users on the market, the others will have to turn to more high-end platforms, on socket 2011-3.
The graphics part is also present of course, with the Intel HD Graphics 630 graphics processor, which is once again only an update of the HD 530 of Skylake processors. The operating frequency fluctuates here between 350 MHz and 1.15 GHz.
Offered at a price of around € 340 now the Core i7 7700K is aligned with the older Core i7 “K”, but with competition from AMD (the Ryzen 7 1700X which is at the same price for example) is it will it always be worth the cost for all types of use? We will see that!
