Test – Zotac GTX 1060 AMP!
| Specs | Price

Hi all!

A new brand has entered the editorial staff of Conseil Config, I named Zotac! Today I will present to you one of their GTX 1060 model, I named the GTX 1060 AMP! The card in today’s test is of course different from the reference model from nVidia with a proprietary cooler which will logically be much better than the original ventilation solution, the operating frequencies are also modified in order to have a little more performance. The card is available at around € 300, it is positioned in the bulk of the GTX 1060 pack, let’s see what it has in its belly!

Note that a brand new test protocol has been introduced for the occasion and that the Zotac GTX 1060 AMP! will be opposed to the cards in my possession. There are certainly not all the cards that I would have liked because it is not easy to recover cards from manufacturers (particularly at nVidia) but I preferred to start again on a healthy basis and recent games (for have at least some DX12 games).

The GTX 1060 AMP! from Zotac therefore has 1280 CUDA cores, like of course the nVidia reference card. The basic GPU operating frequency is 1556 MHz and 1771 MHz in turbo mode (over 1900 MHz at most in practice), against 1506 MHz and 1708 MHz for the reference version, i.e. an overclocking of a small 50 MHz , it’s not much but it’s already won! As for the memory, it operates at a frequency of 2 GHz, like the reference card.
In terms of connectivity there are 3 DisplayPort 1.4 ports, 1 DL-DVI port as well as of course the eternal HDMI port (in its version 2.0b), so we can connect a whole bunch of screens.
The card is really compact with its 21 cm long and 12.8 cm high, so there will be almost no problem in all boxes on the market, even the smallest (by that mean mini-ITX with a slot for the card graphic). The board is powered by a single 6-pin connector, which is not surprising when you see the maximum consumption of 120 Watts, which is really ridiculous compared to what we have been aiming for in the past, and compared to the high end (especially at AMD).
Note that like all GTX 1060 the Zotac AMP! is not SLI compatible, so don’t think you can pair two of these beasts together.
