After NVIDIA, Intel and AMD sanctioned Russia by withdrawing all their products from the country, the Russians are going through a second and this time even more significant graphics card crisis in the last 2 years. This will make graphics cards not only a rarity, but also their price will reach crazy levels, which some have decided to take advantage of.
The example of graphics cards perfectly illustrates the effect of the sanctions on Russia
This story is one of many that will show us the effect of the sanctions on Russia in the coming times. This time it concerns not so much everyday necessities or food, but graphics cards, the price of which has increased significantly to the point where the RTX 3070 Ti in Russia currently costs about 200,000 rubles (~ 8,000 PLN), of which the minimum monthly salary in the country in January it was 13,890 rubles (via Mash).
The scale of the problem can be seen immediately, which led some employees of the Russian company Wildberries to steal 20 RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards from the warehouse, which is the equivalent of several hundred lowest domestic payouts in Russia. While the theft itself was fine, forcing it for profit caused criminals to burst in when trying to sell them at a pawnshop and attracted attention.
