The Navi 33 (RDNA3) GPU would have 4096 Streaming Processors, it would be faster than Navi 21

Although we still have a year to see them, we continue to receive information about the upcoming Navi 3X graphics based on RDNA3, and in this case, they talked about the specifications of the Navi 33, the GPU that would power the RX 7700 and RX 7700 XT.

The rumor comes from Greymon55, who has already leaked multiple details about both the Radeon RX 7000 “RDNA3” from AMD and the GeForce RTX 4000 “Ada Lovelace” from Nvidia. This time around, he kept quiet about this update, simply updating his Twitter bio with this information.

This change in Greymon55’s biography was noticed by user WildCracks, To who the famous filter Kopite7kimi replied that it was true, and that Navi 33 will be an upgrade from Navi 23 with GFX11 architecture, codenamed RDNA3. Possibly this comment means that Navi 33 will have the same amount of WGP (Work Group Processors) as Navi 23, and that Navi 3X will have twice as many Stream Processors per WGP as Navi 2X, since that would be the only way to reach 4096 SPs when Navi 23 has 2048 SPs.

Unfortunately Greymon55 did not give more details although these specifications are already enough to speculate that the RX 7700 XT could become faster than the RX 6900 XT thanks to the improvements in the RDNA3 architecture, which will include more efficient SPs, improved RT cores , more Infinity Cache, and higher clocks thanks to the use of the 5nm process. If true, already with an RX 7700 XT we could play in 1440p or even in 4K without making a too large investment, which would be excellent news.

As always, we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt as it is rumors and there is still at least a year to see these graphs, and changes could be presented in their final specifications.

What do you think about these rumors about Navi 33? Do you really think the RX 7700 XT will be faster than the RX 6900 XT?
