The RX 6500 XT will feature 1024 Stream Processors, 4GB of VRAM, and will hit the market on January 19

Videocardz has just confirmed the specifications and arrival date of the RX 6500 XT ahead of its announcement tomorrow, confirming that it will feature 1024 Stream Processors, 4GB of VRAM, and that it will hit the market on January 19.

Going into more detail, the RX 6500 XT will be based on Navi 24, the first AMD GPU at 6nm, which will allow it to achieve a boost of 2815MHz and a game clock of 2610MHz, frequencies 10% higher than those of the RX 6600. XT. The GPU will not be the only component with the highest frequencies of the RX 6000 line, since according to the specifications accessed by Videocardz, it will have GDDR6 18Gbps memory, when the rest of the line uses 16Gbps memory.

While for now everything sounds pretty good for a GPU in this segment, there is a notable limitation which is its memory bus: The RX 6500 XT will have a 64-bit bus only, limiting its bandwidth to 114GB / s assuming that the 18Gbps frequency in the memories is correct. This bandwidth is really low for a current GPU, although it will prevent miners from taking all the stock since the hashrate is almost proportional to the bandwidth, so low bandwidth will imply a low hashrate.

The RX 6500 XT is expected to be announced tomorrow during AMD’s CES 2022 press conference and hit the market on January 19. There are also rumors about an RX 6400, although it is not known if it will be announced tomorrow or not.

What do you think about these RX 6500 XT specs? Is it a good option to play in 1080p?
